Mind Strength For schools
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), mental illness affects around 20% of the world's children and adolescents. The organisation further predicts that depression, considered the leading cause of youth suicide, will become the world's primary health concern in 2020. Right now we’re experiencing an anxiety epidemic where 1 in 4 young Australians currently have a mental health condition, anxiety disorders being the most prevalent. Young people are uniquely exposed to a faster-paced society; the bombardment of technology, social media and persistent, aggressive marketing strategies; an increase in academic testing and exams, and more family breakdowns.
HOW MIND STRENGTH HELPS
Our mission is to change the state of mental health for students in Australia through working with schools to equip students, parents and teachers with the strategies needed to build resilience, boost confidence and develop a growth mindset.
Mind Strength programs and presentations are developed and delivered by Clinical Psychologist and University Medalist, Dr Jodie Lowinger. Jodie is regularly sought after by the media as a commentator on anxiety, resilience and related challenges in children, adolescents and adults. In addition to Mind Strength, Jodie is the Founder and Principal Clinical Psychologist of the Sydney Anxiety Clinic.
Our one hour presentations can be tailored to the age of the children, gender or any specific needs. Get in touch to find out more about bringing Mind Strength to your school.
